Andrew Wyeth Studio

Andrew Wyeth Studio

I went with another CCBC faculty to an invitation to an open tour of Andrew Wyeth's personal studio in April 2012.
(The Chadds Ford studio where Andrew Wyeth, one of America's most significant artists, painted many of his most important works of art, will open for tours in the summer of 2012. Given to the Brandywine Conservancy by the artist's wife, Betsy James Wyeth, the studio has undergone careful restoration to preserve its appearance when it was used by the late artist.

Wyeth painted in the studio from 1940 until 2008. Thousands of works of art are associated with this studio, including those inspired by the farms and open space of the Brandywine Valley, and the Brandywine River that runs through Chadds Ford and the surrounding countryside.

Photos from my tiny crappy phone.

He collected a-lot of military memorabilia that covers the rooms in his studio house, everything was well-preserved and for me it was an amazing opportunity to see a little more into such an awesome American Painter's life.

The Rupture

December 21st 2011 at approximately 6:40pm, after splitting wood all day, I cut a half inch off my left middle finger on a pneumatic log splitter when a piece of wood slipped.
